Arri have just released an awesome featurette on their new Alexa model, the Alexa M. If you don’t know what this is that it’s basically an Alexa split into two. There is the lens mount and the sensor on one part, and all the electronics, image processing and recording media on the other.
These two parts are connected by a (probably) very expensive optical cable. It’s made specifically for tight corner situations/crash cams/POV/helicopter/3D Rigs. It looks absolutely awesome. Production have had the body and head parts seperate by over a mile! Unreal. I’m pretty excited about getting to use this camera.
